Meet Lucky — The One Millionth Pet Adoption
Iams and the Helen Woodward Animal Center announced that Iams Home 4 the Holidays campaign achieved its one millionth pet adoption, in only the program's seventh year. The milestone adoption took place at Kirkham Kattery Rescue in Milton, Fla., when a local resident opened her heart to a road-weary cat.
The cat — who undoubtedly earned his new name of "Lucky" — was put up for adoption after being rescued from a car's engine compartment where he survived a 60-mile journey. The unplanned trip from Mobile, Ala., to Pensacola, Fla., resulted in a broken leg and a severed tail for Lucky, but Kirkham Kattery Rescue reports he is recovering extremely well and is thrilled to have a new home for the holidays. |
